It’s All About the Story Telling

March 11, 2016

When something funny, or crazy, or unexpected happens in our lives, what do we often do once it’s over? Hop on the phone, computer, run home, drive across town so we can get to the person or people we want to share that story with. By the time we get a hold of the person we already have our details together, our bullet points, jokes, the delivery, and all the enthusiasm to tell that story.

Am I right?
You know I am!!!

Well it’s no different when you are putting together a concept for a project. The first thing you do is think about the story you want to tell. What is it that you have to say? Finding the story is a very key part to defining your message.

What is your message? That is the question people will be asking when they see your work. They are going to as themselves why am i watching this and what does it have to do with my life. It’s your job to provide those answers. You may be sitting there thinking well how do I do that? Well below I’ve made a quick questionnaire that you can use to begin figuring out what your story is so we can tell it in the best way possible.

1 What does my product, project, or business stand for?
2 What’s my cause?
3 Who is my audience? Who are you trying to reach or help?
4 What is the tone? (is it funny, serious, passionate)
5 What’s the beginning, middle, and end of the story?
6 How do we want the audience to feel at the end?
7 How do we want the audience to react or do because of that feeling?

As we begin to put your story together these will be some of the things we want to consider. I hope this helps give some insisted to telling.
